Barcelona: update on the theatre work process

05/02/2021

A crucial stage of the process.

Last week, we reached the halfway point of the theatre work process, and realized that it is being a rollercoaster of emotions and sensations. The group is facing new challenges daily, being one of them the absence of some members in the sessions, due to isolation situations related to Covid-19 or the need to meet other essential needs. In the absence of a group member, an extra dose of motivation becomes more than ever necessary.

Three new participants joined the project recently: Mame, Mohamed and Usama. Their commitment, receptiveness and enthusiasm have provided fresh air to the group. We have also found in them two great musicians and actors.

We are now at a crucial stage of the process. As the première draws near, self-responsibility, discipline, memory and team work gain relevance. Participants already have the tools needed to perform, and their responsibility and protagonism in the process are rapidly increasing. Within the next 15 days, the focus will be on learning the text, being on stage and working together to ensure the success of the performance.

During this week, young participants have also participated in one-to-one conversatios with their reference educator. These conversations provide a space in which participants can share how they feel about the process and identify positive elements from their experience. Additionally, a group reflection space will be held tomorrow, and time will also be devoted to rehearse the text and clear up doubts related to vocabulary and pronunciation.
