A contemporary fairytale

Projektfabrik, nell’ambito della sua programmazione artistica annuale, ha suggerito le fiabe dei Fratelli Grimm come oggetto di studio artistico e materiale ispirativo per la stagione in corso.
Patchanka ha aderito alla proposta, per arricchirsi nel confronto continuo che ha con ProjektFabrik e con il resto del Partenariato di artE anche sull’oggetto artistico.

Il progetto Pilota di Torino è così stato incentrato su Hansel e Gretel, rivista in una versione contemporanea, dalle atmosfere dark, ambientazioni urban e musiche elettroniche.

Projektfabrik has suggested Brothers Grimm’s tales as part of its annual artistic program, as an object of artistic study and inspirational material for the current season. Patchanka has joined the proposal, to enrich itself in the continuous dialog relation it has with ProjektFabrik and with the rest of ArtE Partnership.

Therefore, the Pilot project in Turin turns around the fairy tail of Hansel and Gretel, revised in a contemporary version, with dark atmospheres, urban settings and electronic music.

La sceneggiatura è scritta dalla Theatre Pedagogue di Patchanka (Virginia Ruth Cerqua) rivisitando la fiaba di Hansel e Gretel a partire da una versione già resa contemporanea da Tobia Rossi.

La versione di T. Rossi racconta una realtà molto vicina al vissuto dei ragazzi coinvolti nell’esperienza: il difficile rapporto con i genitori, la mancanza di punti di riferimento, la solitudine, l’illusione della possibilità di ottenere tutto senza sforzi e senza ostacoli, rappresentata dalla strega.

Una catarsi in chiave dark, a conclusione della quale i ragazzi risolvono il loro conflitto interiore trovando la propria strada nel mondo.

The screenplay is written by Patchanka’s Theater Pedagogue (Virginia Ruth Cerqua) starting from a version of Hansel & Gretel by Tobia Rossi, who had made already a contemporary and dark version.

T. Rossi’s version describes a reality very close to the children’s experience involved in the fairy tail: the difficult relationship with their parents, the lack of points of reference, loneliness, the illusion of obtaining everything without effort and without obstacles. All
these themes are represented by the witch.

A dark catharsis, at the end of which the youths overcome their inner conflict by finding their own way into the world.
