ARTE in times of Corona Crisis

Wie soziale Kunst auch in Ausnahmesituationen funktioniert

How social art works even in exceptional situations

Special times call for special measures: That’s what we at Projektfabrik think, too. The current situation has made project work more difficult for us and the pilot project “Frederick” planned in ARTE cannot be carried out as originally planned. As in every crisis, however, there is a lot of creative potential enfolding now. We have shifted our work to the digital world and “Frederick” exchanges ideas with other JobAct projects in Germany every day now in order to continue the project work as best we can. In the meantime, we have come up with some digital solutions for this: Communication with our participants by means of (video) chats, digital visits of events or places (e.g. museums), online performances in video format, integration of digital events in homework for the participants and, of course, the exchange of digital teaching and learning resources between our trainers.

As you can see, we developed a lot of ideas to creatively cope with this challenging time and to make social art come alive in the digital world. We are confident that we will emerge from the current crisis stronger and are looking forward to things optimistically. Or to put it in Bertolt Brecht’s words: „If you want to master difficult things, you have to take them lightly.”
