Weekly report of the Frederick Ensemble from 17.08.20 to 21.08.20

On Monday the Frederick Ensemble visited the first time the venue for the plays „The yes-man“ and „The no-man“, which will have its premiere in September. The stage is located at Haus Witten. The acoustics of the new location were tested by voice exercises and a continuous rehearsal to get back into the theatre play after the two-week summer break. From Monday to Thursday the theatre rehearsal with Martin Kreidt took place as usual, which will take place from 10:00 to 14:00. New participants were integrated into the theatre work and the play. Intensive text work took place, in which the text was read and chorus was spoken together. The new participants were assigned to their roles and the performance, which for the most part already existed, was further elaborated. Like the elaboration of the bakery, in order to extend the possibilities of the spatial use. Outside the work in the house, the Fredericks took part in an interview for their new blog.

Change of location of the rehearsal room

This week we changed our rehearsal room from the interior of Café Leye to the exterior of Haus Witten, the actual performance venue. Difficulties we noticed are noise pollution from traffic and passers-by crossing the stage. The floor also has to be handled differently. The weather has not caused us any problems so far. The advantages of the new rehearsal location are that there is of course good ventilation outdoors, and that the massive old masonry found there matches the atmosphere of the play. Our rehearsal room in Café Leye also has no audience room, so we can now get a better feeling for the relationship with the audience at Haus Witten.
